GM and Angie Harmon

So now the administration has dropped all pretense and are running private industry. Obama has effectively fired the CEO of GM and is forcing Chrysler in to a shotgun marriage with Fiat. Though the President says that the Government has no desire or intention to run GM. What does he think he is doing? Also, why isn't the administration forcing some concessions from the Unions? Could it be because they are a core constituency of the Democrat Party. Everyone knows that it is the grossly overpriced union contracts that are the prime reason that the automakers are in trouble. Force the unions to take cuts, Mr. President, and I might support your meddling in management.

On a side note, I have always thought that Angie Harmon was hot, but her opinions prove that she is not only hot but also very smart!

Global Warming and Governmental Tyranny!

The hysteria over Global Warming is quickly becoming an excuse for government tyranny! If you need any proof check out this article about how the California Legislature is now going to tell their citizens what color they can paint their cars. They are doing this because apparently dark colors make the air conditioning work harder. Whats next no more black clothing because they make you feel warmer, what will happen to priests and nuns? If we allow the government to make even small decisions, such as the color of our car, for us then we will just be inviting them in to make all our decisions and we will lose our freedoms we have cherished since the founding of our Republic!

Yes, it is Radical, Mr. Secretary!

Yesterday, Rep. Manzullo(R-Ill.) told Sec. Geithner that his plans for institutional takeovers was radical. Of course, Mr. Geithner said his proposal isn't radical, how else would you characterize giving the Treasury Secretary the power to seize private businesses. Rep. Manzullo was completely right it is a radical plan. Since the Treasury is a political department what is to say that the firms past political donations will not be made a condition of saving them? Or if the Treasury is in charge of seizing the businesses and breaking them up, will the strong parts of the companies go to political allies. This proposal is nothing more than a power grab designed to increase the control of the Democrat Party on all aspects of American Life!

Democrats Are the One's in Bed with Wall Street

Ann Coulter's column came out today and it is wonderful. Ann is telling how much in the bag Wall Street is for the Democrats. This is information that Republicans should be shouting from the rooftops. I am sick and tired of people thinking that we are the party of the rich and the elites, when it is the Democrats that are the real financial beneficiaries of these limousine liberals.

Thank God for DTV!

I live in rural South Carolina, therefore we do not have cable TV, and satellite TV is just too expensive. Therefore, I am so happy that Digital TV has come, if not I would have to watch President Obama or nothing. Thanks to WJBF and RTN I can watch The A-Team instead.

White House seeks to take over private business

Today the administration announced plans to give itself greater control over seizing troubled firms. The proposal would give this power to Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner. Mr. Geithner has not had much success so far in his efforts to fix the economy, so do we really want to give him even more unprecedented power. Furthermore, I feel it will be a big mistake to move regulation from apolitical groups to the political Treasury Department. How can we expect businesses to dig themselves out of difficulty with the White House looking over their shoulders threatening to seize them. The more government becomes involved in the private sector, the worse it will be for our long term economic prosperity. This is a proposal that should be denied!

China Attacks the Dollar!

As I mentioned in my first post, foreign governments are concerned about our debt. Now comes word that China, who holds a lot of our debt, is going to propose a new global reserve currency to replace the US dollar. If this happens it will be a disaster for the US. A large part of our world power derives not only from our superior military strength but from the fact that the dollar is the currency of the World. To have world monetary policy dictated by communist China could bring about the end of capitalism. How will President Obama react?
